Preliminary Surveys

Preliminary Surveys

All cargoes of interest to our clients arriving through the Port of Santos are routinely subject to preliminary surveys, a service that the insurance market has come to refer to as “discharge assistance.”

These inspections have produced excellent results in preventing cargo damage and losses, particularly those arising from theft, accidents, and operational negligence by carriers and warehouse operators.

We have been providing this service to many of our clients for more than 20 years, enabling us to identify patterns and occurrence profiles for numerous insured parties, as well as evidence of anomalies in transportation processes that have led to the identification of several non-conformities.

In summary, in many cases preliminary surveys have become a key factor in improving the risk management procedures adopted by importers.

The results of these preliminary surveys are reported to our clients through summary reports documenting the services performed and the measures taken.
